Schweitzer Violates Campaign Law

Schweitzer Found To Have Violated Ethics Laws

Hearing Officer Sides with GOP in Ethics Case

Helena – Hearing Officer Bill Corbett, has found that Governor Brian Schweitzer violated Montana ethics laws by producing illegal tax-payer funded Public Service Announcements after he became a candidate for re-election.

“This is a victory for open government,” said MT GOP Chairman Erik Iverson. “Professor Corbett’s decision certainly vindicates our position, that this was a blatant abuse of power by Governor Schweitzer and that no one, not even the Governor, is above the rule of law.”
