National Convention 2008

From September 1-4, 2008, an anticipated 45,000 delegates, alternate delegates, party officials, volunteers, members of the media, and convention guests will gather in Minneapolis-Saint Paul for the 2008 Republican National Convention. The host cities will be showcased internationally as the Republican Party highlights our strong principles - and nominates the next President of the United States.

Montana has been allotted 25 delegates (3 of these are reserved for our State Chairman, National Committeeman, and National Committeewoman) and 22 alternate delegates. In accordance with the rules of the Montana Republican Party, our 22 delegates and alternates will be elected at our State GOP Convention in Missoula this June.

Become a Delegate

If you are interested in becoming a delegate or alternate to our National Convention, we recommend that you complete and submit the National Delegate Application Form.  In accordance with Party Rules, all Delegate Nomination forms will be submitted to a nominating committee appointed by the State Chairman. The nominating committee will then make recommendations to the full body at the State Convention. Nominations are also allowed from the floor at the State Convention.
